PERSONA PLAY!!!! IN THE SCA!!!! GASP!!! <Insert prolonged amount of

I think persona play would be fun also. Both DSD (posted 4/24) and I (posted
5/4) invited everyone to join in and try some. I think Cedric was the only
one who did that. I have maintained for a long time that the SCA no longer
cares about or promotes persona development. Most people know so little
about their persona that they can't even answer simple questions about it.
Just so you understand what I am talking about, here are some sample
questions. Assume all of them are being asked directly of your persona.

1. What kind of a coin is in your pouch?
2. Who's face is on that coin?
3. What did you eat for breakfast?
4. Where does your food come from?
5. How many changes of clothing do you own?
6. How do you deal with the catholic church?
7. How many times have you been conscripted?
8. How much geography are you aware of?
9. What myths do you believe?
10. What stories were you told when you were a child?
11. What musical instrument Would you learn if you could?
12. Can you afford a musical instrument?
13. What color is your pottery? Where did you get it?
14. Have you ever seen a painting? a statue? a book?
15. Have you been to a fair?
16. What would be at a fair if you attended?
17. Have you ever seen a play?
18. When you travel, do you walk or ride?
19. What is in your mug?
20. What would you see if you went out side your front door?
21. Have you ever seen a boat? a ship?
22. Can you write? read? count? do math?
23. Do you believe in astrology? What does the church say about that?
24. What physical phenomenon confuses you the most?
25. Do you eat fish?
26. How would the fish be caught?
27. Do you eat grain? if so what?
28. Do you eat meat? How often? What kind?
29. Do you own a cook pot?
30. Can you cook?
31. What kind of fuel do you use?
32. What is your favorite summer, spring , fall and winter activity?
33. What do you like the least about each of the seasons.
34. What is your duty during harvest?
35. Do you hunt? are you good at it?
36. Are the roads around you safe to travel?
37. Have you ever been on a pilgrimage?
38. If you went on a pilgrimage, where would you go?

I could keep going for a while. Somewhere I have my list of 100 persona
questions. The point is, most people have no clue about the details of their
persona. I am not suggesting that we get into fantasy role playing at
events, but the research that can go into persona development is very
enriching.
