Nope...I did not have his letter in my mailbox when I responded. Perhaps his
letter was delayed in transit... The electronic media have been especially

Interesting. I would like to discuss with you what you think conduct
becoming a Peer and Lion are one day soon. I don't see any problems with my
letter... I asked a couple of questions, made a statement about the purpose
of the new cards, and made a somewhat sarcastic remark about the reasoning
you might have had in writing such a missive. My letter is, basically, what
I would have said in public to your face. I certainly didn't mean it as an
overt attack...perhaps a tad snide...but last week I was feeling
particularily testy...

Nope...not trying to provoke you to anything. Except, perhaps, to prod you
in the direction of getting all the information before you write a fairly
nasty letter implicating all manner of underhanded plots, attempts to limit
access of newcomers, or assuming that anyone was going to automatically not
trust the word of a newcomer at the gate. (see following quote:) "...or is
it that it is easier and more forgivable to consider the person you don't
know to be a liar?"

In fact I would hope that we can end this public exchange now...I would much
rather talk to you about it at populace, business, or just over a mug of
coffee or ale...

What do you say? Truce on this one?

I have no need of a "defense"...IMO I have done nothing wrong. Of course if
being human and having an opinion needs a defense then I guess that I'm
guilty of that.

in Trust and Peace"  ~Wassailing ~ the Troth or trust of one family member /
tribesman / neighbor for another ~ and the Frith or peace that holds as
Guestright or at Thing or Althing.
