Greetings from T.E.'s Niklas and Kezia,

This will be the first of several announcements, formal and informal, about
the closing of the The Barony of Raven's Fort, Arts & Sciences program, The
Artisan of the Season.

Additionally, We announced the forming of a new award that will reward the
work done by the artisians of Raven's Fort for their works in the Barony
and themselves.

I will take each action and explain.

At the Populace meeting held Thursday night, we announced the closing of
the Artisan of the Season (AoS) Arts & Sciences program. This was a
baronial level, non-armigious, A&S recognition that was given 4 times a
year for A&S work done. There was a program of activities that went with
the recognition, that the artist would, do so they could show their works
or teach.

We have had 4 AoS awardees, Jean michel de Mauex, Lady Clarissima di
Niccollucci, Cathal SilAlmhain and Lady Isabeau de Merricouer.

They all have done wonderful works of art in their fields and we thank them
all for their efforts, talents and time given to the Barony of Raven's Fort
in the Arts & Sciences. We encourage them to hold their classes or
teachings if they wish and to make and wear the medallions they have won
for the honor of Raven's Fort. Again, We thank you and so does the populace
of Raven's Fort.

With the passing of one thing, there comes another.

H.E. Kezia announced at the Populace meeting that a new baronial level,
non-armigious Arts & Sciences award would be formed to reward the artisans
of the Barony of Raven's Fort for their skills. It will be an award that
rewards local, quality, Arts & Sciences works and talents as a first step
in the fields of A&S that the awardee has chosen

The basis of the award will be one that is given by the Baron & Baroness of
Raven's Fort through the submissions of recommendations for the award by
the populace, in a manner like submitting recommendations for awards from
the Kingdom.

The exact name, insignia and mechanisms of the new A&S award have not been
fully worked out. Those wishing to have input on the process are welcome to
speak with us about it.

We are seeking from the Populace of the Barony, name and insignia
suggestions for this award. The award is A&S in nature, thus, the name and
insignia should reflect that in their design. Please have suggestions to us
by the Feb. 2002 business meeting so we may choose one and get appropriate
plans and insignia made.

These changes are moving the award structure of the Barony now in a
different direction. A direction that closely mirrors the award structure
of the Kingdom of Ansteorra. We will flavor the award to meet Raven's Fort
unique styles and people, while giving the awardees, of the new A&S award,
an honor to claim, wear and be proud of from their Barony

This information will be announced again at an upcoming event and printed
in the Quoth. Anyone having questions or suggestions on names, devices or
procedures are welcome to share them with us. It is asked that those
persons contact us off line so as not to eat up bandwidth.

Thank you for the time and efforts that all in the barony have been doing.
Exciting good things are happening in Raven's Fort and more is to come.

In Service,

H.E. Niklas and H.E. Kezia
Baron and Baroness of The Barony of Raven's Fort
