The investigation by the BOD must have ended before it began.  No one from
the BOD called to ask anything of the any of the eye witnesses or me, the
person that Lorraine attacked.  They must have not been very interested in
the facts.

My guess is that they didn¹t contact the police involved either.  If they
had they would have found out that the two major reasons for not prosecuting
the case against Lorraine.  First and foremost is that I, as the injured
party, told the detective that I did not want Lorraine to go to jail, but I
did want the death threats to stop.  The second reason is that the detective
not knowing anything about the SCA was fooled into believing that Lorraine¹s
attack was part of her character role playing and so was not a real threat.
Of course anyone that has played in the SCA even a short time knows that
pressing a live steel butcher knife to someone¹s stomach and making
terroristic threats on their life has nothing to do with persona play.

The detective also say that he felt that  Kief, the other offender in this
case, is a very real threat.  Even so, no charges could be brought against
Kief as he had not threatened me to my face, but only told third parties he
would kill me, which is not a crime.  The detective suggested that I find
another area to play in or quit the SCA altogether.

I have played in the SCA for twenty plus years but I have not attended an
event since the assault at Defender of the Fort in September of 2002.  Even
after the police warning to Lorraine and Kief I do not feel safe.

Your congratulations to these people seem a little sick to me.  I remind you
that she was banished for her actions.
