I was asked if Waterbearers would be required to carry Non-Contact Authorization cards at Gulf Wars, as we do here in Ansteorra. Thought I'd
check into it, so here's what I found.

Ansteorra requires Waterbearers to have a Non-Contact Authorization cards to go onto an 'active' list field when called by Marshalls. Only those 18 years or older may get a Non-Contact card from their Knight Marshal, and
it's good for 4 years. You essentially sign the waiver part, it's kept on file at the Ansteorran Marshallate Secretary's office and you keep the authorization card part. When waterbearing, you show the card to the Waterbearer-in-Charge (WIC), and off you go. The Non-Contact card is also
good for heralds, scouts, chirurgeons and banner bearers.

Meridies does not use a Non-Contact card. For those 18 years or older who
wish to do waterbearering, you will need to show your SCA membership card, which required you to sign a waiver to be a member. If you are not a member, then you will be requested to sign a waiver sheet at the Waterbearer point.

Those 18yrs and over, with memberships or who sign the at-point waiver, will be allowed onto the 'active' list/battle field when called to it by the marshallate, and must leave the field when asked to by the marshallate.
Others, including those under 18, may waterbear along the sidelines or
assist at the waterbearer point.

Waterbearers will be needed every day at the war, so please volunteer.
