[Ravensfort] Period snacks for Coronation

Hi!

Thanks to HL Jacinth for sending this list to me
today.  Here are some ideas for a period antipasto
platter.

Sliced salami -- any kind of sliced sausage or 
salami would be acceptible
A dish of anchovies dressed with lemon juice
Boiled river shrimps with lemon wedges
Fingers of fresh parmesan or peccorino cheese
Dishes of cucumber, peeled, sliced and salted
Dishes of curly endive
Sliced orange salad dressed with oil and wine 
vinegar -- aceto balsamico
      if possible
Plates of olives, green or black but not stuffed
Salted whole almonds
Fresh apricots
Fresh peaches
Strawberries
Melon pieces

Other ideas:
apples
pears
sliced cheeses, cheese spreads (herbed and peppered),
feta, blue, cheddar, brie, ricotta, swiss, yogurt (for
dipping fruit or veggies in, consider some sugar or
honey and yogurt for dipping strawberries), herb dip,
roasted garlic spread

bread rolls, pretzels (hard or soft - don’t forget the
mustard!), matzoh, Norwegian flatbread (RyeKrisp),
breadsticks, rye bread, oatmeal bread, pita bread,
foccacia (bread with cheese and fresh herbs baked on
top), shortbread
