Greetings:
In planning for Defender as Archery Champion, I need to know a few things.
Is there a pavilion(s) for use at the Archery Field? Water cooler(s)? Ground
quivers? List and line ropes? Kingdom score sheets for copy in case of
IKAC/IQAC? Is there an Archery Marshal(as I am not authorized)?
Any who might have info on any of these, PLEASE contact me here or off-list.
Hoping to make this fun,
Ld Latham

Heilsa Lord Erich....
Indeed...a Grand Event to plan for...The 25th Defender of the Fort...*smile*
It certainly does need to be done correctly...as the whole Kingdom will be
watching to see the Glory of the Barony of Raven's Fort. The Saga of it may
well be sung for years to come...!! I have every confidence that it will
happen exactly as planned...Grand Tournaments...wonderous
competitions...Displays of Equestrian skill...Bardic talent... A hearty and
delicious Feast...! And a Court to remember...! Dancing...Drumming...perhaps
a bonfire...a good Revel indeed...*bigger grin*
Oh...this past Sunday's Fighter Practice at Kate Barr Ross Park was very
cool...I got to meet some newcomers/new fighters...instruct them and other
newish fighters on some of the finer points of Hardshell combat, talk with
my squire Lord Balda, discuss the upcoming Defender event with Baron Brian,
and discuss varied aspects of philosophy with some folks for several
hours...*grin*...all in all it was a *great* gathering in the park...wish
all of the good folk of this Barony could have been there too... I'll
certainly be attending more often when I'm not out on the road working...
As regards the issue of a single word, Lord Erich, single words oft times
have great power...it depends on who utters them...how they are
presented...the spirit in which they are offered. It always follows that
others use those single words to represent many things...it all depends on
one's perspective.
In Service to the SCA, Ansteorra, and the Barony of Raven's Fort...
Your good neighbor...

Erich,
Perhaps actually punishing rule breakers rather than just watching them
would be a good start.

My apologies,
Maybe I'm becoming paranoid like some others but it was not my intention
to pick on anyone. I thought it might be going elsewhere. My only wish is
that we make the list a great place to come and talk not a place of
bickering.

Perview...
Ah yes, the Jailor's new fund raiser... Something about 50 pence, 2
minutes, and peering through the speakeasy on the Dungeon door...

Perview????
Please explain, my vocabulary seems to be lacking. I found it neither
in my Webster"s Third New International Dictionary nor in my Webster's
Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English language. So I'm a
little confused...
Maybe a misspelling?

Greetings to all,
I would encourage populace members for participate with Defender. Yes, its
work but fun work. As it stands my employers are not going to approve my
leave applications, so I will have to work. I do plan on attending Defender
on Saturday and helping where I can. I will also try to attend some work
days too.
If it's ok with the event steward, I would like to host a newcomers pavilion
as Southern Regional Hospitaler. I will be passing out information about all
the SCA groups within a 100 mile radius. I have a few of my local group
hospitalers helping out too. I have my own pavilion and will be supplying
snacks at my own expense. Just drop me a line and let me know if its ok.

A newcomers pavillion sounds very nice to me. Paying for it out of your own
pocket...eh, not so nice. But that's not for me to decide (although I'd be
happy budget it in if allowed). Do you have a pavillion or do we (the
Barony) need to provide one?

Reading this list is often punishment enough...
I wasn't on the list until I got the bid for Autocrat. I've yet to decide
if I'll remain when my job is done. During my time here, let's use the list
to talk about the work days, event planning, and Ravensfort business.
Please.
Thank you, Alaric
