I have no problem being medieval at all.  However if I hide Velcro to make it easier getting my kids out of their costumes so be it.  I would think that having fun is the main thing everyone is out to do.  Dealing with a kid screaming I gotta peeeeeeee!!!!!! And having to unlace or fasten them is just not cool.  
  I however promise to go to lengths to make it look authentic.  But pretty much I am a single mom of 3 and have no help.  Whatever I can do to make things a bit easier on me I will.  I know many long time SCA folk who quit because they where not having fun.  One even commented to me that she was told she ruined someone’s experience because he caught a glance of a zipper.  
  And on that note has anyone figured out a clever way to “hide” a cooler?   I’ve suffered food poisoning waaaayyy to many times to try it again (only once was my fault. Always wash after handling chicken).
  The other thought what about chairs for camp sites and the tents themselves?
