I have some white round paper ball lanterns & red ones too that are battery 
operated... 8"-10" across +/-? that I'd be willin' to give to the 'cause.  I don't expect them to survive the humidity though.  That is the problem with paper & outdoors in eastern Tejas... I will check to see how many I still have & let y'all know if your interested.
 
I also have a coleman propane lantern & 2 bottles of fuel that I am wanting to 
sell (person or barony) for $25? It even has a plastic hard case to store it in.
Let me know if anyone wants to buy it for the 'cause or their own cause.
 
The barony has a package of 'AA' batteries that were purchased last year for the 'button' lights we used in the privies.  I do not know what kind of batteries the paper
lanterns use, will find out...

Or if you do the individual ones (such as my solar flickering tiki torches) you have to make sure the individual solar panel gets enough sunlight.  OR... yeah I always have an 'or'... the solar charging batteries can be changed to regular batteries.  Which means they'll have to be checked to see if the batteries need to be replace before dusk arrives (because when it gets dark you drop the freaking batteries).

Most home improvement stores carry lights with solar cells that come in groups.....I've seen these lights lining driveways and walkways in front of people's houses.  They don't burn electricity, and they have sensors that turn them on at dusk.  Those are not period, either, but in the interest of safety, it should be all right to make some concessions.

While that is a fine idea, it is not really period. Is there a way to light the path with something that looks period and yet gives off no flame? How about small battery powered lanterns hung on small shepherd hooks?
 
By the way. The cobbler that I had frozen for a week thawed out in 9 hours in the fridge. It froze and thawed just fine and tastes just as good. The added flour gave it better consistency but lacked flavor. I will try adding some cake mix to it before I coat the peaches in it. Should do the trick.

I'm still digging out the battery operated small strings of lights out of various boxes.
