There once was a man new to ravens fort
who thought he would visit the Melee sport
Giovanna was sweet
she let him in free
and now he has ducats for other sort

Because of the storms, Baron said it's time to go
before all the rains begin to flow
Mary of Axefoot (?)  got drenched
when she unbound the tent
and we shared a giggle as 'twas apropos

This lim'rick is prose some like Hesiod
tho' not quite as epic as Iliad
we tried not to drown
as Charles led me around
and, quoth he, mud is period
