[Ravensfort] work day this Saturday (food)

I guess for Defender, the head cook will have to find a recipe to put this cheese in... (as most know, when cheese is served at a feast, it is usually sliced/cubed to be eaten with bread, but not always..) Dom has a killer recipe for cauliflower & brocalli (landscaping) that uses "lots" of cheese. (whether it's period or not...?)

I also read that if you leave the cheese whole, not sliced or grated, it will hold up better to the freezing process. We can find out...

Alaric, are you bringing up the items you mentioned before to be vacuumed sealed & frozen on Saturday or are you doing that at your house? If you bring them up tomorrow, I can go to the "Evil Empire" tonight & buy a roll for the Foodsaver specifically for baronial use tomorrow. Let me know at your earliest convenience. Thanks!

As long as the cheese is vaccum sealed is can be frozen for a while. It changes texture somewhat but if it is used in something as opposed to like a slice of cheese on a cracker then it should be okay.

Thanks Runa!! Duh, I too have a foodsaver thingy. I've heard mixed stories about freezing cheese... Dom? Onions can be frozen (like the bell peppers) & be ok.

  Alaric -
Bring them up & we can use the foodsaver thingy to freeze the stuff...?
As for the sour crm? Not my bag/fortee (very limited use I have for sour crm).

We can use my foodsaver thingy to suck out the air and vaccum seal it. Don't see why the onions couldn't be sliced and frozen the same way. Have never frozen onions that way.

I have some of our leftover Feast (already prepared) in me freezer. About 10 servings when added to white rice (which I have). I also have some yello & red bell peppers that need to be cooked into something, some red onions that need to be used, and a huge vat of (opened) sour cream. Oh, and 8 lbs of shredded cheese.

That being said, I need to get some of my fridge space cleaned out this weekend. I literally cannot go buy "major groceries" (I been shopping for 2 days at a time). If I'm not mistaken, our decision at Business was to keep the chicken frozen and store the dry goods. Dom had offered up some deep-freeze space. The other stuff listed above (sour cream, cheese, ect) I am not sure what to do with.
