[Ravensfort] Workday change of plans

We had a very productive site prep day at The Stones this weekend.

All of the smaller trees that had been targeted are down and have been moved to the bonfire. There is still a tiny amount of leafy stuff still to be picked up, but that can be taken care of when we haul the trimmings from the first work day to the fire. Many thanks to the devotees that braved the 98 degree heat to share the work and the watermelon. Plachoya was the Chainsaw God ! ... like butter. Brush grunts included Saint David, Michelle, that Marius person and the ever present Jalali.

Many thanks also to Kitsune for an excellent evening meal of Chicken Curry. Wonderful as always. A thousand blessings on the Lizard Keep.

There will probably be another workday to take the big pines down toward the end of the month, depending on when Baron Brian will be available. Please watch this Raven's Fort List for more information.

Again, many thanks to all involved.

Peace,
Vlod NotVlad

Subject: [Ravensfort] Workday at The Stones Saturday July 12

From the Autocrat of Defender of the Fort :

For those of you that will not be attending Coronation,

David Saint David will be spearheading a workday at The Stones of Raven's Fort site this Saturday, July 12th. General site prep is the order of the day.

We have received permission to cut down not only the medium and small trees to widen the entry road, but the two large pines at the sharp bends as well. This will give us a near straight shot in. If the stars and planets are in alignment we will cut down the smaller trees this weekend. The two big pines will be taken down at a work day in the near future when Baron Brian and others can join in with the fun.

Another project that could be worked on this weekend is the resetting of the stone circle. Raven's Fort has become famous for The Stones. Pride in our Barony tells me that they should be maintained at every work weekend. It is a shame to see them in such disarray. Some of the upright stones need to be leveled and the cap stones set in place. Of course it is always the right time to cut the grass around The Stones.

Brush needs to be cleared in the Equestrian area and carried to the bonfire.

    NOW THE FUN PART !
After the work is done we will retire to Saint David's adjacent home for an evening meal.
The food will be provided for you.
After dinner sweets or spirits are encouraged, but not mandatory.
Please bring what you would like to drink, plus drinking water.
Please plan on washing your dirty dishes at home.

Overnight camping will be allowed on Saint David's front forty or in the far downs.
No camping at The Stones site.

    If you plan to attend
    PLEASE RSVP
to me privately or to this list
so that we can make sure that we cook enough for everyone.

I you have any questions, please call or write.
    281-367-3409
    Thanks for your efforts.

    Peace,
    Vlod NotVlad
