The Viking Society was formed in the Spring Semester, 2009, by the majority  
of classmembers attending Associate Professor James Frankki's GER 333  
MULTICULTURES OF AMER-GERMAN class, better known as the "Viking sagas  
class." Although the organization was formed by students of this class, not  
all members of the organization were enrolled. In an effort to promote  
awareness for Norse history and culture, the Viking Society invites  
students of all backgrounds and academic majors to join in the quest for  
unearthing the mysteries of the medieval Scandinavians. Furthermore, the  
Viking Society reaches out to the community and also invites non-students  
to join.
