A Day at The Stones of Raven's Fort :

Saturday was a good day in the cold rain at The Stones and we completed everything that we set out to do. 22 poles were set in concrete for the Equestrian stalls. Baron Brian was the Auger God. He picked it up from the rental place on Friday and manned it most of today. His karma must be exceptional because he managed to miss big roots even when next to big trees. We now have eight large stalls laid out. In dryer weather we will drill holes for ropes and be completely finished.

The rented auger has now traveled south to the "new site" to do another full day's work tomorrow setting post to accommodate horses that Michael is boarding for six months. He is using the money earned to build fences and stalls that the SCA will be using for years. The stalls are being built with hard wood and look really nice.

Many thanks to Brian, James, Runa, Michael and that Marius person for footing the entire post hole auger rental bill.

While we had a crew of strong backs available we also move the showers back onto The Stones site. Many thanks to Charles for the use of his trailer and many thanks to Saint David as well for giving us a place to work on the showers. There is a bit more to do to finish, but it will be a down hill run with most of the wood panels already cut. I would not be surprised if Baron Brian calls for an impromptu work session if he can steal the time.

We have only one more work weekend before the event and it will be a busy one with mowing, limb removal and water barrel runs. I am hoping for a good turn out so the work load can be shared and the weekend is enjoyable for everyone. We'll see you there.

Long live the Raven.

Peace,

Vlod NotVlad
