 * On July 17 A.S. XLV I had the honor of going to Round Table with Lady
Mirabelis, Lady Runa and my own dear wife Lady Rosalia. It was a day of
great learning. I focused on learning the goings on in the wonderful world
of Heraldry. I am pleased to announce that my own name was passed onto
Laurel with a few minor changes. And Vivat to Lady Rosalia - her name and
device were passed onto Laurel. Also learned that the herald of a group can
have deputies that are in charge of specific ares such as an armory herald,
court herald, book herald so on and so forth. It is also the duty of the
local herald to set up a consultation pavilion once a year at one of the
groups events. It is the duty of the local herald or one of the deputies to
inform there regional herald of what event they are going to have the
consultation pavilion so the regional herald can have the mobile research
materials brought to that event. Also the local herald or one of the
deputies must have ready access to the Ansteorran Gazette. It should be
noted that the Ansteorran Gazette in an online only publication.*

 * We also attended the great meeting of the great officers of state.
Raven's Fort was praised for it's newsletter. Due to a lawsuit the SCA has
to have model releases for people that are in images before they can be used
in any official SCA publication. As of right now the SCA does not have an
official model release so no images of people can be used in any official
SCA publication it does not matter if it is hard copy or digital. The SCA is
hoping to have a downloadable release form by the first part of August.
Groups are now going to have to provide a pavilion for new comers. The will
fall the hospitaller/chatelain officer to provide. Older members of a group
are also encouraged to sit at the newcomers pavilion and talk to the
newcomers about what the SCA means to them and help the newcomers enjoy the
event.*

 * All and all it was a great event with lots of great classes and wonderful
people. I learned many different things about the SCA that I had not known
as well as the changing face of the SCA. I did have a most enjoyable time. *
