Not going to Round Table? Looking for something to fill you time that
weekend? Want to encourage someone to join in celebrating our Dream and
help out a family in need at the same time?

CONSIDER COMING TO OUR SPECIAL DEMO!!!

When: July 17-9 AM to 5 PM

Where: American Legion Post 134, Crockett, TX

Lady Katrina Alyse Argo is putting together an SCA demo in Crockett, TX to
benefit a family in need. The veterans of American Legion Post 134 are very
enthusiastic and being very supportive of this benefit. The American
Legionnaires are planning not only to have us come and show them what we can
do but they are planning to have food stalls including turkey legs, sausage
on a stick and hot dogs with cold drinks, the local TV station, a classic
car show and a classic motorcycle show also. There will be a Silent Auction
with items donated from local shops ... The Legionnaires are hoping that the
SCA will add some items to this list as well. We are also holding a Blood
Drive in connection with Carter Blood Centers out of Lufkin. There is
always a need for blood, so if you can, please consider donating.

The American Legion has requested that we announce any fighter's affiliation
with any branch of the Armed Forces. This is strictly voluntary for who is
willing to approve it.

What We Need

. All types of FIGHTING: chivalric, rapier, siege engines, archery!

. All types of MERCHANTS: This is your chance to show off your best wares! A
large area of the parking lot will be cordoned off so that a true Merchant's
Row can be set up. All we ask is a donation to the benefit or an item to
put in the Silent Auction.

. All types of ARTS & SCIENCES: weaving, sewing, armoring, soap-making,
woodworking, blacksmithing!!!

. EQUESTRIANS ARE ESPECIALLY INVITED!!! Crockett is horse country and the
Legion was overjoyed to hear we may have "real" knights on horseback!
Several Equestrians have already expressed an interest in attending.

. MUSICIANS, BARDS AND DANCERS!!! The Legion would love to hear our music!

. PERIOD PAVILIONS AND ENCAMPMENTS! Come lend your ambiance to this demo!

We will also need FIELD HERALDS, WATER-BEARERS and CHIURGEONS to assist our
fighters. This is becoming a large "event" and we wish to make sure that
our SCA people are safe and hydrated as well has having a good time. There
will be air conditioning available inside the Legion hall for cool-down
periods.

Every type of SCA personae and interest focus are needed for this demo. Come
be a part of the biggest demo since we were part of the Texas Renaissance
Festival!!!! Camping space and SHOWERS will be available Friday night and
Saturday. Electricity is available in the camping area at $0.15 per kilowatt
hour used. Local hotel information will be posted at a later date. There
is a Holiday Inn Express and the Crockett Inn which we are attempting to get
group rates at if there is enough interest.
