[Ravensfort] Privacy Issues

Welcome to age of computers.
But, even before computers there were cross reference lists.
It was easy to get an address and find out who lived there.
You could dig a little deeper and
find out who owned the property
and if they owed taxes on it.
You could even go by and take a photo... legally.
So what ?
I'm not individually afraid of our government or anything else.
I have nothing to hide in either my front or back yards.
In the age of FaceBook, MySpace and Tweeter
it seems a little silly to
worry about someone having
a picture of the outside of my house
or other public information.
It's just hard for me to believe that the sky is falling.
Relax, have a homebrew.
And just for the record,
I have never taken part in FaceBook, MySpace or Tweeter
and neither my wife or I are on the Spokeo list.
Go figure.

Yeah but I sign onto NOTHING with my full first name and middle initial.
That was listed.  Every list I belong to I use my nickname (shorten version
of first name).  Plus my deceased mother was listed.  Both have been
removed.  Thankfully Google map only shows trees and the addresses were in
the wrong location, another good thing about living in the country.

This is an aggregation program; nothing that is available here is private or
anything, it's all publicly posted somewhere else. The 'creepy' house photos
are simply pulled from Google Maps, your info is pulled from forms you have
filled out and website you post to, etc. I suggest that if you have a lot of
information on this website and you are worried about privacy, go back
through everything online that you've posted in and delete it / set to
private.

Your right.... way too much stuff on there.... I recommend everyone go to
this website and remove their info.... the word privacy is in blue in very
little letters at the bottom... click on that to remove your info...

Intersecting showed my next door neighbor as well as my house and about half
the info is wrong. Guess I could always tell them come in the back door it
is always open. That way there is nothing to hit with the shotgun but those
that do not belong their.
