[Ravensfort] Defender of the Fort question

I am not sure how it was determined that the 2008 (postponed to 2009) Defender was XXVI.
I was told to call it XXVI and I didn't question it.
Wow ! 
Can you believe it ??
I actually accepted something without question.
Will wonders ever cease ?
Anyway, unless we want to repeat a number, my suggestion would be to go with XXVII.
Perhaps the B&B should make the call on this.

  It couldn't have been 1990, because I know there was a Defender in 1987 (1990 was IV or V). I didn't go to the one in 1987, but I had been to Kingdom Bardic College in Conroe that summer (Hector and Rowan were still King and Queen).

  So the question is: Was there a Defender in 1986? If there was, then 1988 was Defender III; if not, 1989 was Defender III.

  Another clue: Seamus and Karlanna were King and Queen in 1987, while Inman and Drusilla were King and Queen in 1986. Who was on the throne at the first Defender?

  So...

  if Defender I was in 1986 (with Inman and Drusilla on the thrones), Defender III was in 1988, Defender XXIII would have been in 2008, and this year would be Defender XXV. If Defender I was in 1987 (with Seamus and Karlanna on the thrones), Defender III would have been in 1989, Defender XXIII would have been in 2009, and this year would be Defender XXIV.
