Alaric,
We will miss you both. Would you let me display your beautiful Belt at least?
I promise to take good care of it.
Shanahan

We have been invited to participate so we need to start thinking about what we
want to do. They have asked us to re-create a villiage from the time of Sir Hugh
de Padinan called Hughs town (yes, that is where Houston got its name I think).
I have some info on Sir Hugh and the time period which is 1153 - 1165 Scotland.
We have access to a bunch of burlap which we could use to create mini huts for
people to sit in and do their craft. I was thinking weavers, metalsmiths,
leathercraft, calligraphy & illumination...to name a few.
Of course we will have heavy and light fighters.
The main thing is that they want us to creat a timeline so people do not think
General Sam Houston and the Middle Ages exsisted in the same time and place. The
dates are April 29th, 30th and May 1st of 2011. Friday April 29th is kids day.
There will be anywhere from 1000 to 3000 kids coming through the Folk Festival.
We need something to engage them.
Get your thinking caps/armor on and let us make this a demo that will generate
many new members to our group and the SCA as a whole. This is a great
opportunity, let's not miss it.
More info at the March populace.
YIS
Lord Devin
