Greetings Ansteorra,

This will be in my next missive to the March Black Star, but I wanted to 
get the news out as widely and quickly as possible.

As of March 1st, the experiment with Mandrake 2" thrusting tips on 
fiberglass spears up to 9' will no longer be an experiment.  This will 
be officially allowed.  At this time, the ONLY legal 2" spear tip will 
be the tip from Mandrake, assembled with ALL of the discs provided in 
the kit, and mounted per the instructions.  This tip can be found at

The Gulf Wars Marshal in Charge has advised that these WILL be allowed 
at Gulf Wars.**

As it is not the intent of the SCA to mandate a product by a single 
manufacturer as teh only legal option for a weapon, Jarl Hrafn and I 
will begin work on a weapon experiment program for home-made 2" spear 
tips on fiberglass spears.  This news will be forthcoming.
