Even better why don't we focus the cool positive energy, awesome ideas and hard work to make our 25th anniversary as a Barony and our 30th Defender Championship the best event we can possibly have!! This our chance to shine, as a group of talented wonderful people that we are! As Co - steward there is so much we can do to prepare and heaps of work to be done. We should be telling any and everyone we know about our birthday bash in September! Let's put our efforts into making those small additions to ambiance, site health, warm and welcoming efforts that we do so well. Why spread ourselves, resources, and funds thin by hosting an event a month before the biggest event we are to throw in a good long while???
Just my 2c....
I guess that would translate to yes I think it's a crazy idea to host this event when there are plenty of other groups that can do a fantastic job hosting.

Cheers!

I have an even better idea that all of the above.

Have the seneschal call Sara and ask what H&S involves.
Heralds love to talk to other SCA people.
Then a populace meeting can decide.

For this event the Barony handles gate and booking a site.
The Heralds do the rest. We tend to call the instant event -

just add 1 autocrat.

Magnus
who would love to have this event on the eastern marches of Ansteorra so I can attend
