Raven's Fort, Greetings!

I spoke with Devin yesterday about the possibility of hosting the Kingdom Heraldic and Scribal Symposium. I called some of my contacts for Madisonville to gather information and costs for explored possible venues. I shared this information with Devin yesterday. I will happily share this information with the Barony.

Both sites I found that would be able to accommodate a large number of people.
Both sites are large open rooms, not class rooms.
Both are in the Center of Madisonville, with nearby lodgings for out of town guests and several restaurants with in walking distance from the sites, with fast food outlets further out.
The first site would be the "Kimbro Center" located right behind the County Court House on Main street/HWY21.
Capacity is about 185. The center will set up( and take down) tables and chairs to our request for design.
There is a separate room smaller in size right next to the large room for use as well.
There a small kitchen area on site.
The cost for rental is $200.00
Parking is available close by.
I have been involved with groups which have used this center and it is very nice, and I think could work even without classrooms by placement of tables and chairs.

The next site I have found is very close by 1 block away. It is the First United Methodist Church of Madisonville.
It is the Wesley Fellowship Hall. This is a very nice room as well.
The rental requires a deposit of $200.00 with rental fee of $300.00 for non-members.
The fellowship hall has large round tables and chairs set up all the time.
Deposit would be refunded after the event with the hall being clean and in good shape. There is a large kitchen but I did not ask about the use of it, as I did not think we would have cooking involved.
If requested I can inquire further along that line.
Parking is close by as well.

There is a larger church site also in the same area I did not inquire about, but I could if requested to. That would be the First Baptist Church also in the same area.

It was suggested that classrooms would be more desirable than large open rooms, if that is the case then none of these venues would work. I have gone to events in all three places. The First Baptist Church has the largest floor area, The Methodist fellowship hall the smallest (but still a good size I can call an get an exact capacity number if requested) and the Kimbro size is between the two in size.

As I am new to Raven's Fort and have not participated in any Kingdom Symposiums, I have no idea the numbers of Gentiles who would be attending so costs vs gate income comparisons I am not able to offer. Without offering foods, and the availability of local eateries

I could also call the Tourism Office to see about hotel costs for people who would be traveling from a distance. Perhaps even obtain a "discount" for rooms for the event.

This is the information I shared with Devin yesterday.
I hope that you find it helpful.
If the Barony should chose to use Madisonville, availability for these venues depend upon date chosen for they are all reserved on a first come - first served basis.
I would be more than willing to follow up on requests for further information as require, and assist any way that I may.

In Service to the Dream,
Lady Ysenda de Gray
(AKA Sandra Woodruff)
