To purchase good targets and get them ready to go budget around $300.
That should cover target matts, building of stands, and purchase of
burlap to sew covers for them so they don't look so mundane.<br>
<br>
Remember you need to have targets that will shop bolts from a 100# or
so crossbow before the fletches hit the target. If your targets are so
weak that the arrows/bolts embed so deeply that it strips the fletches
off the arrows/bolts it really annoys the archers.<br>

They are synthetic, stop well, and last a good while it properly cared
for. Being 12" thick they are kinda bulky.<br>

These have the advantage of being larger and FLAT so that targets affix
to them more easily and being FLAT means they stack, store. and
transport nicely. Store 6 of these where you could store one of the
above. With these it it sometimes nice to stack two them together to
get a really strong double thick target. These are made of compressed
rice straw so ya don't leave em out in the weather and store them in a
nice dry place.<br>

Both of these targets look nice when ya cover them with burlap to
minimize the mundane appearance.<br>

If ya decide to go this route I can look to see what the wholesales
prices and shipping would be.<br>

the Fort event. As announced previously, we need new archery targets.
The targets and the stands we've used in the past are completely
wasted. New ones must be built or purchased. I am in favor of
building new ones. It would probably be cheaper. However, this is a
project that must be started now. It will take time to put a bid
together and submit it to the financial committee for approval. Then
purchasing all the need materials and construction will also take
time. I do not want to be working on the targets the weekend before
the event when I will need help doing last minuet things. </font><font

of rebuilding the archery targets that is willing to start working

or three, I will assume that no one is interested and will petition our
Seneschal to buy store bought targets and stands. If it is determined
that it is too expensive to buy targets than we will paint targets on
the ground for our Baronial Bowman Champion competition ( wouldn't that
be classy ) or cancel it all together. I certainly don't want to see
that happen. Won't someone please step forward ?</font></div>
