<DIV><FONT size=2>Some of you have written and asked about a rescheduling
date. We are working on that. The Stones site unfortunately would
not be in that scenario as deer season will put it out of our use for four full
months. We are looking into using one of the sites that we have used as an
alternate in the past. It won't be The Stones and it will cost a bit more,
but we have Baronial business to take care of. Another drawback for an
quick October date is the fact that the due date for the October BlackStar is
long past. A limited announcement could be made to all the Kingdom's email
list, but that would only be good for individuals with computers. If
something can not be worked out, I wouldn't be surprised if Defender is held in
the spring when we are back on The Stones site. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>I am sure that what ever it takes the devoted members of this
Barony will meet the challenge selflessly. The efforts that you have
already put forth for this event is exceptional. We have had more than a
couple of set backs with this event, but each time we have met the obstacles
with stride and found new routes to our desired goals. I realize that this
is the second event in a row that has been weathered out on us, but we will get
past this with smiles as we always do. Raven's Fort has a lot to be proud

Baron and the following is the information that I was given. All
negativity and mockery aside, of course we all want to do what is best

<DIV>From the Autocrat of Defender of the Fort :<BR><BR>After much talk and
hand wringing the powers that be have decided to <BR>postpone this weekend's
Defender of the Fort, Raven's Fort event. We are <BR>very sorry, but it
was determined that it will be much too hard to pull <BR>together with out
power in the area. We are trying to find another date on <BR>the Kingdom
calendar to reschedule. We will be posting to keep everyone
<BR>informed.<BR><BR>It will be a beautiful weekend with cool nights so we are
planning to gather <BR>at The Stones for a pity camping party and site clean
up. If you have a <BR>chainsaw please bring it. There will be no
feast and no port-a-cans. There <BR>will, however, be thirty peach
cobblers that have thawed and must be <BR>disposed of. Of course the
best way to dispose of cobbler is to eat it. If <BR>you plan to attend
this weekend, you must be a self sufficient camper.<BR><BR>We are very
disappointed to bring you this postponement. We were certainly
<BR>looking forward to sharing the good times with our Ansteorrian

suppose to camp and have a little fun and games would be a
break. Others will not be able to attend no matter what. I
personally would like to give the people that can get away someplace to

Crown over the last few weeks, but I have not heard from them in the last

since before Pennsic so who knows what they are doing. It will be a

meeting in Conroe at 7pm (which gives us, what, all of 30 minutes?) seem
rather pointless....<BR>However we do need to assess whether or not we can
still hold the event.<BR>I know that the site can be ready but I'm not
sure that we will have enough attendees to even come close to not going
completely broke. I know that all of us here in Raven's Fort really
would like the break from the storm but I believe that all of our southern
and eastern friends will be very busy trying to recover from the storm,
that is if they even have power by the weekend!<BR>Not looking too good
right now...<BR>Zork says that there's not much difference in camping at
home and the site aside from the MUD ( and running water at home).
Zork also says that he would love to share his brews with the event
attendees ( those of age) but we're not even sure that we'll have ice by
then.<BR>Has anyone heard from their Majesties to see how they are doing
and if they still intend to try to make event?<BR>And do we still have a
Pel circle and Royal Huntsman?<BR>I know it's a lot of questions but I
feel that we need to address them ASAP.<BR>Hoping everybody is
