That's enough links for now. At the Business Meeting a
tentative Banner Making time was set up. It will be AFTER the work day at
The Stones on August 1, 2009 at Tarejia & Runa's shop. Normally work
days have ended about noon as after that workers are subject to massive heat
related problems (especially those of us taking meds that say "STAY OUT OF THE
SUN"). If you wish you can hose off in the yard, stand in front of the
misting fans (yes those wonderful fans that were at 30th) or clean up before you
head to the shop.

If you want a banner then you will need at least 1/2 yard of
poly-cotton fabric (inexpensive) that is 60 inches wide. Wash it and dry
it to remove any sizing in the fabric otherwise paint won't stick. If you
plan to applique then all fabrics used must be washed and dried to remove sizing
and shrink the fabric before sewing. You will need white paint and black
paint if you have red fabric. Unless you plan on making a zillion banners
the smaller bottles of fabric paint are sufficient. Also a chisel edged
paint brush (artist type not house painter type).

The 18 in x 60 in fabric will allow you to have a banner
approximately 17 in by however long you make it (if 2 sided then you're limited
to 17x36 or so).
