LISTS<BR><BR><BR>Fellow SCAdians ... <BR><BR>The City Fathers of Crockett are
really psyched about us (the SCA) being<BR>there. The Chief of Police,
the local Sheriff, the Fire Department and the<BR>EMTs are all planning on
making appearances during the course of the day.<BR>These people really,
really WANT us there so we won't be viewed as "a bunch<BR>of crazies in
strange clothes"! There is even talk of making it "an annual<BR>event
... maybe during a cooler time of the year." They are already
asking<BR>if this goes well if Raven's Fort or another branch would consider
hosting<BR>an event in their area! <BR><BR>So what do you think?
Is the SCA going to let these good people down? I<BR>really hope not!
Not only will it be good for Raven's Fort and surrounding<BR>Baronies/Shires,
it will be good for the Society as a whole. We all know<BR>that
membership numbers are down ... Here's a chance to get them back up.<BR>Demos
are our recruiting tool and we should all take those opportunities to<BR>show
the mundane world the beauty that is our Dream.<BR><BR>Every type of SCA
personae and interest focus are needed for this demo. Come<BR>be a part of the
biggest demo since we were part of the Texas Renaissance<BR>Festival!!!!
Camping space and SHOWERS will be available Friday night and<BR>Saturday
("love" donations to cover the cost is appreciated). Electricity
is<BR>available in the camping area at $0.15 per kilowatt hour used.
There is a<BR>Holiday Inn Express and the Crockett Inn within 2 miles of the

July 17-9 AM to 5 PM<BR><BR>Where: American Legion Post 134, Crockett,
TX<BR><BR>Lady Katrina Alyse Argo, Proprietress of Longship Furniture
(formerly<BR>Barefoot Boxes) is putting together an SCA demo in Crockett, TX
to benefit a<BR>family in need. The veterans of American Legion Post 134 are
very<BR>enthusiastic and being very supportive of this benefit.
<BR><BR>. FOOD - there will be turkey legs, sausage on a stick, corn on
the cob<BR>and corn dogs at the Benefit. I believe that the pricing will
be "donation"<BR>style with $1 being the minimum. There will also be
Coke, Dr. Pepper and<BR>Sprite at the event as
well.<BR><BR>---------------------------------------------------<BR><BR>What
We Need<BR><BR>. All types of FIGHTING: chivalric, rapier, siege engines,
archery! The<BR>American Legion has requested that we announce any fighter's
affiliation<BR>with any branch of the Armed Forces. This is strictly
voluntary for<BR>whomever is willing to approve it.<BR><BR>. All types of
MERCHANTS: This is your chance to show off your best wares! A<BR>large area of
the parking lot will be cordoned off so that a true Merchant's<BR>Row can be
set up. All we ask is a donation to the benefit or an item to<BR>put in
the Silent Auction. The people in the area are very interested in<BR>the
items that we have for sale and are looking forward to browsing
our<BR>goods.<BR><BR>. All types of ARTS & SCIENCES: weaving, sewing,
armoring, soap-making,<BR>woodworking, blacksmithing!!! There are many
in the area that would like to<BR>learn or exchange ideas and knowledge.
Arts & Sciences will be set up<BR>inside the American Legion Hall in the
A/C. Lord Yamai has kindly consented<BR>to bring his Armor/Weapon
collection to the Demo ... And rumor has it that<BR>there may be a
"blacksmith" show up as well. <BR><BR>. EQUESTRIANS ARE ESPECIALLY
INVITED!!! Crockett is horse country and the<BR>Legion was overjoyed to hear
we may have "real" knights on horseback!<BR>Several Equestrians have already
expressed an interest in attending. Many<BR>thanks go out to Master Eule
who has enlisted Lady Calena to be the EqMIC<BR>and for coordinating efforts
with the Equestrian community. Arrangements<BR>have been made for a
"stock tank" to be onsite for our use and shade for the<BR>picket line is
available. We have had several people respond that they will<BR>be there
with their horses in tow ... THANK YOU!!!<BR><BR>. MUSICIANS, BARDS AND
DANCERS!!! The Legion would love to hear our music!<BR>Alaric and Tareija, you
are welcome to perform as a "roving" troupe, or set<BR>up inside the Hall in
the A/C. <BR><BR>. PERIOD PAVILIONS AND ENCAMPMENTS! Come lend your
ambiance to this demo! I<BR>would like to thank Lord Thorgard and
Mesterinde Annes for volunteering to<BR>bring up the Viking tent and all the
necessary accessories to show a period<BR>Viking encampment.<BR><BR>We will
also need FIELD HERALDS, WATER-BEARERS and CHIURGEONS to assist
our<BR>fighters. This is becoming a large "event" and we wish to make
sure that<BR>our SCA people are safe and hydrated as well has having a good
time. There<BR>will be air conditioning available inside the Legion hall
for cool-down<BR>periods.<BR><BR>Every type of SCA personae and interest focus
