<DIV>It has been suggested that there is not a need for a second "business" meeting every month.</DIV>

<DIV>The second meeting is actually an "Officers" meeting where the details of a group are worked out.</DIV>
<DIV>How many time have you heard someone say, </DIV>
<DIV>"Let's not get bogged down with the details right now. </DIV>
<DIV>We can work that out later when there's not so many people waiting on us." ?</DIV>
<DIV>I you delete the Officers Meeting, there is no later.</DIV>
<DIV>We either work it out at populace, or a small group will make the decisions with little in-put from others.</DIV>
<DIV>There is a reason that almost all SCA groups have a "second" "Officers" meeting.</DIV>
<DIV>It works very well.</DIV>

<DIV>On top of that... and let me try to say this as gently as I can, as I do not want to be offensive...</DIV>

<DIV>Should we have Populace Meet in the south every other month ?</DIV>

<DIV>Should we let south Barony go to Gate's Edge or Stargate ?</DIV>
<DIV>Nobody wants to see that happen either.</DIV>
<DIV>I know that the people in Huntsville don't like to drive so far, but try to be a little fair about things.</DIV>
<DIV>Southerners have to drive up every time there is a guild meeting or workday or anything else.</DIV>
<DIV>We have had success with our recruiting efforts in the south lately.</DIV>
<DIV>Why would we want to take away the only local meeting ???</DIV>

<DIV>All that being said, I will point out that at Populace Meeting last Thursday the room was FULL.</DIV>
<DIV>The system that we have in place seems to be working very well.</DIV>
