AAAKKKK.  Try something with less pungency.  Red Potatoes are considered
period enough here since they are closer to the purple potatoes of
Ireland.  It is my understanding that botanists are attempting to bredd
backwards into the purple potatoes and maroon carrots (as well as other
veges that have changed over time).  You may be able to find some at a
rare foods shop or gourmet deli.
