I'll second that.  In fact, we mentioned the squirrel variation
(preceding in the ms. by the words "For a grete lorde,") to a friend,
and two weeks later he showed up at my doorstep with a big Zip-loc bag
containing two squirrels which he'd shot, cleaned, and frozen.  Alas,
the poor squirrels stayed in the back of our freezer waiting to be made
into brewet until they were thoroughly freezer-burned and we threw them
out :-(
