Hi all from Anne-Marie.
All this talk of Siege cooking got us here in Madrone thinking. So,
here's our version. We're holding a contest at South Sound Unity Tourney
(in a couple weeks, if anyone wants to swing by). Wer'll makie up a dozen
or so packets of ingredients out of our Guild supplies (finally we get to
use up that stuff!), and big bags of herbs and veggies from peoples gardens.

If there's any locals reading, and you want to come pleay, let me know!

    Hi all from Anne-Marie
Here's the propaganda on the siege cooking contest that the guild decided to
sponsor (shame on you who missed last nights meeting! We volunteered you all for
lots of stuff, though). Peter, would you please forward this to the Steps? And
if you think it's appropriate, to the general Madrone email list as well?

Spread the word! This is gonna be fun!!

    ***************************************************************************
    SIEGE COOKING CONTEST!
    COOL PRIZES!
    NOVICE DIVISION TOO!

The Madrone Culinary GUild is sponsoring an on-site siege cooking contest on
Saturday at the South Sound Unity Tournament.

What's a Siege Cooking Contest, you ask? It's like this. So, you're in this
castle, see, and under siege. No food in or out. You have to cook dinner based
on what you have at hand, a motley assortment of staples and a few odds and ends
that you may be able to scrape together. It's a fun way to be creative and play
with period food! No experience required, we'll have a division for novices as
    well as more seasoned cooks.

Competitors will recieve a packet of ingredients as well as the rules, and will
be asked to produce an edible food unit out of the ingredients they are handed.
They will be allowed to suppliment somewhat with things found on site...see the
rules for more details on this. Any documentation, even verbal will be strongly
encouraged and make the judges very happy.

Packets may be picked up from Eden of Lionsguard in the Madrone Period
Encampment until 2pm on Saturday. First come, first serve. Entries will be
    accepted from 5-6pm Saturday,
with immediate judging. Results will be announced and available at 7pm Saturday
    in the Madrone Period Encampment.

Come play with us! How creative can you be?

For more information, or for a copy of the rules in advance, contact Anne-Marie
    d'Ailleurs. Phone 706-0749 email: rousseaua at immunex.com.
