This can work very well. We usually make a batch of lemon syrup before
Pennsic every year (equal amounts of sugar and lemon juice, simmered on
VERY low heat so as not to discolor until it reduces to a thick syrup
that keeps without refrigeration), and a few Septembers ago my wife
decided to brush the leftovers on chicken before baking it. Yum!
