SC - Pepper with fruit

  re: the black pepper in odd places syndrome -- I am frequently asked
  about the lovely spices used to season my shortbread:  the exotic
  esoteric spices I use are salt and pepper.

And the secret ingredient in my pasta alfredo (not period) is: cayenne or
Tabasco.  Just the tiniest pinch or drop.
