Uhh, not quite. Newbie cook time: 

1)What is "par-boiling"?

2)If potatos are out because they are not period, what were
the period root vegetables? Turnips? (blech), carrots?

This sounds like a great chicken recipe. I think I'll have
to try it when we're not eating the regular feast.
