My lady, I in turn would like to ask *your* forgiveness.  In re-reading this this morning; I realized to my horror that it looked like I was ranting at *YOU*; and that was definitely not my intention!

Please understand that I was ranting about the subject in general; and the fact that several of the responses that had come in so far sounded *to me* rather like gross generalizations of the SCA populace at large...  being too ignorant, lazy, or stupid to do anything but what they are familiar with.  I chose your response to reply to because what you said was closest to what I wanted to say... a similar argument, but for a different reason.  And your reasons ARE every bit as valid as mine; you had a good point.

Folks, I really do want to apologize to all of you for going off like that.  I know I'm not the only one who's been financially strapped--hell, a lot of you have been students!--and I don't think there's a one of us on this list that doesn't have to work for a living.  

I'm not saying my point of view wasn't valid; but I am sorry for expressing it in such a way.  Thanks for your indulgence.
