Well, I cannot dare declare a winner.... but I am impressed.
Next time, however, I'm gonna make judges out of Katerina and Adamantius,
and try to ensure that someone else actually attempts to make a meal! (If
there is a next time, actually.)
A few thoughts along the way....
I'd love to see lots of potential lists from people, and why they chose what
they chose. Please? I think you'll be surprised at how much fun it is.
Katerine chose for her salat, wisely, a number of interesting greens. I'd
urge each of you to do the same for your modern cookery, as well. My wife
and I routinely place parsely in our modern salads (thanks to a suggestion
one time from Mistress Johanna Dudley) and we both think it makes salads
taste brighter. This weekend I had a salad in a restaurant, that was summer
fruits and lettuce, all mixed (honeydew, strawberries, oranges plus garden
truck) with a little lemon on the top. Just the thing after a day of
traffic jams and moving furniture in the heat.
