You'll lose if you spray stuff with jalapenos or other hot peppers.
Mockingbirds and blue jays, The destruction duos down here, both chow down
happily on chili petines and don't turn a hair.  Get fake snake and wind
them around tree branches or tin can tops and hang them in trees.  old
Christmas ornaments in bright shiny colors will also sometimes scare things
away.  Blue jays are not easily scared off or hotted out.  They love hot
food.
