You are correct. The one thing that made it possible for the Romans to build
the awesome civilization they did was their use of concrete. And any who
would like to research Roman kitchens and dining areas should study the
various texts available on the ruins of Pompei. The use of concrete in these
areas was truly awesome and makes one almost ashamed to have guests over to
our modern dining and cooking areas. :-0
