1. Obviously the version with paprika isn't. 2. I've always had foul medame as something about the texture of hummus or babba ghanouj. Thanks, Cariadoc. That's true for me, as well. (And I've only had ful medame twice: once in NYC, once in Israel...) So, I don't know. Tibor
