The plant is definitely a ginger plant.  Having a wild childhood in
Southern California where ginger growes freely that part was easy to
identify.  I have grown ginger here in Central Texas before, but was
curious about this cinnamon ginger.... Let me know if you find anything....
I have a couple of new places to check here in town and will let you know
what I can find out.
