Greetings all on this list from a new subscriber.
I am informed that I am expected to introduce myself.
My name is Anne-Marie d'Ailleurs and I reside in the Barony of Madrone,
Kingdom of An Tir. I am very active in the Madrone CUlinary Guild, and
have been for some years, cooking and doing research into primary sources
and original recipe reconstructions.
My main areas of interest are in period French food, but I have also done
research in Elizabethan, Roman, and even some Italian, German,
Andalusian, Middle Eastern and English. (almost always directed by some
feast someone wants to see done!)
I am also interested in medieval agriculture and animal husbandry and how
they apply to food and eating in period.
I am a firm believer that period, well documented and well prepared food
is a delight to the palate and the imagination, and am on a crusade to
convince as many people as I can of this, mostly by shoving yummy things
at them, and as they gobble it down, look smug and ask if they'd like to
see the documentation...Hah!
Looking forward to some cross-pollination of ideas...
