We've recently started a tradition in our shire that whoever is hosting the
business meetings makes some sort of munchies or other food. When my lord
and I host, we always make a period dish or two, and so far everyone has said
how much they enjoy them. We also make sure that our contribution to
potlucks, etc are period. Teaching by example seems to be working; we've
inspired another shire member, who has been in the SCA for just about a year,
to settle down to selecting a country, period, garb, etc, because she WANTS
to.
