I am an herbalist.  Unfortunately, nothing comes to mind.  Seems to me that
Europe was very lacking in caffeine producing plants.  However, I could easily
have overlooked something.

Given that Marco Polo brought noodles back from China, does anyone know if he
also might have brought tea?
