Greetings, Concord are table grapes primarily. They can also be used to make jelly or pressed to make grape juice. Don't bother making wine out of them it will be second rate at best. Concords are definitely an American product. I don't know when they were imported to Europe, but my gut feeling is they are definitely not period. Thank you, Michael Farrell
