SC - LoC

  Several posts have mentioned this potentially useful search engine. What is
  the URL or web address that we can use to access this site? A net search of
  Library of Congress only provided me with a list of research facilities that
  i had to pay to do the LoC search. :-(

http://lcweb.loc.gov/catalog/ is a good start place.  I found their
experimental search engine really nice to use.  They also have a telnet
interface, I think at telnet://locis.loc.gov, or something like that.  (Or
was it lcmarvel?  Since I found the relatively new web interface, I stopped
using it.)  There is also a gopher interface, somewhere.  I can find it if
asked.
