A good example of the caution flag for a lteral translation would be Middle
Eastern recipes. There are several recipes which call for cow's eyes. What is
actually meant is a whole different ball of wax. IIRC, it really is asking
for dates or figs or somesuch. Cariadoc  , could you please jog my memory
here?
