"White," actually - "wheat" is Weizen.

Couldn't find any of the Belgian wheat beers you folks were recommending at
the NOB package store, but they had several German ones.  Bought a bottle of
Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier.  (Weihenstephan are in Freising, Bayern;
their label claims "Since 1040 - Oldest brewery in the world.")  It
definitely tastes like beer.  Blecch.  (Though admittedly, it's not as
bitter as most Yank beers.)
