SC - Food Mills

A while ago, in one of the discussions the concept of "food mill" came
up.
I've been thinking about it and I would like to know a little more about
these and other conveniences which may or may not have been used in SCA
period kitchens.

What is the first mention of a food mill? 
  Was this really a "China Cap" device or a food mill with a crank
handle?

How about a Mandoline slicer?
A double boiler?
A food grinder?
A sausage stuffer?
Those Mechanical apple parer/corers?
Kitchen Pump?

How about references?
