Deer are only considered "endangered" by people who think "Bambi"
constitutes reality and who have never had to contend with them as
four-legged pests.

I also am given to understand that there are some deer ranching
operations being started to provide venison to the market, just like the
buffalo ranchers are doing with the bison.
