The original idea as I concieved it was each cook from the list bringing a
dish or dishes to a chosen spot and having one big giant "period" feast by
the cooks, for the cooks and of the Cooks. A big period-type party with a
little pompacity thrown in to make it fun for those not included, along the
lines of the Queen;s Tea, or The Laurel's Croquet party or somesuch. Just
good old fashioned fun with a little hoopla thrown in like a parade or two,
e.g. Carrying my particular dish from my campsite to the chosen feasting spot
dreesed in full Persian court garb with drum and honor guard preceeded by the
banner Cooks of the Cathedral would be great fun and cause heads to turn and
people would smile and wonder . No competitions, no exhibits, no judgements.
Of course bringing the recipe along and compiling them into a booklet could
be a great idea too. This was my proposal. All others were addenda.
