Stefan, I believe neeps and tatties are what uz grandparenz rever to
az turmutz and tatez. (Sorry, Cornish - the forgotten Celts).

Butter may be whiter in winter, due to the lack of greenery for the
cattle. It works that way with eggs, and I'm fairly sure I've seen
it mentioned in cpnjunction with butter too.

Tyrca, your question about tact: I was not concerned on my own
behalf, but I think it is unwise to be too rough on relative
beginners. I still cringe when I remember my first attempt at a
redaction (over 9 years ago) and the autocrat asking what this crap
was. I think it is possible to corrrect while still being gentle.
The reason I mentioned it was not a specific incident, but a general
impression gained from some of the postings over the past few days,
which seemed to me a little on the harsh side. I think others may
have noticed it too, otherwise we wouldn't have had a rash of people
talking about being 'flamed'. Thanks for consideration. End of mini-
rant.

I don't think knives really care if they're male or female, as long
as they're named. Our cleaver is known locally as Ribsplitter.

Haybox cookery is where you have a box stuffed really full of hay,
and after cooking a stew for about 15 minutes you put the lid on,
wrap the pot in a towel and put it in the centre of the hay with the
box's lid on. It should keep cooking very gently for 3 or 4 hours,
after which you bring it to the boil again, if possible, just in case
anything has decided to grow. I have, in the past, used a cooler box
(esky, for those of you in Lochac) stuffed with newspaper, and this
has worked well.

Heh heh, we're just coming into summer!
